I visited the site Iamnotashamed.org, and I had a stunning revelation that maybe I am??
I have always been the one who deletes the email that says that I'm going to hell if I don't pass it on, and my reasoning has always been "I'm not ashamed, I just don't want to pass on your dumb email". But maybe, I'm just not prepared to answer any one's questions or rebuttals to what has become my precious, feeble faith.
but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect, (1 Peter 3:15)
The difference between this campaign, and an email campaign, is that it is infiltrating our nations #1 demigod: THE TV! I am so excited though, that Christians are taking the time to show the world the gospel in such a bold way. Jesus would have done it the same way. He wouldn't have just preached in the temple, he said himself that "those who are well are in no need of a physician, but those who are sick" (Luke 5:31). Well, I guess that says it for us. There is a problem in our culture right now. We have walked away from God in exchange for the lie that we can do it all ourselves. I say this with passionate repentance. I am the one who is sick. I am the one who has exchanged the truth for the lie. I can only hope that he doesn't give up on me. Clearly, He sees my trouble and knows my weaknesses. Only through grace can someone like me, someone so disgusting, be even tolerable to God. And through Jesus, we are made perfect and acceptable to God.
So that's what I have to say about that.
